NEWS: Rookie Series Revamp

NEWS: Rookie Series Revamp

Season 14 is full of wonderful new stuff that you'll find out about soon, but for now let's talk about the changes we have planned for the Rookie Series!

From season 14 onward the Rookie Series will no longer be a hunting ground for experienced managers looking to pick up easy wins. New restrictions will be put into place to dissuade experienced drivers entering the Rookie Series which in turn gives all newly created drivers a better chance of success.

All newly created drivers, regardless of age, may participate in the Rookie series for 2 full seasons. If the driver competes in the Rookie Series for a 3rd full season and beyond, then they will incur a penalty.

Drivers with more than 2 full seasons already under their belt will be penalised by having weights added to their car, making the down force on their car worse and slowing them down drastically.

Why experienced managers, some as old as 30 years of age and beyond, enter into the Rookie Series in the first place is baffling from a rating points point of view. Finishing 10th in an F3 National Series gives more rating points than finishing 2nd in the Rookie Series!

In essence, we want new managers with young drivers to enjoy the experience the Rookie Series can give them. It is absolutely no fun entering into what is a beginners series and seeing vastly experienced drivers zoom into the distance for easy wins.

Well, this is the last season of that!

~

This is another great step in the evolution of MRC and we will continue to bring you news when possible of our progress in developing a game for everyone!

Bye for now!
