Press Conference with Debik - season 35

Press Conference with Debik - season 35

Q&A, news, changes and much more!

So as you all know we started last season with annual press-conferencies with the creator to connect the community with game development and its creator/s.

I've collected many questions over the course of last season so I feel now at the season beggining its the right time to share with you all what You and Debik have to say.

(Please note that some questions you sent me are excluded because those became insignificant over time - IE. betting on Moto1 rather than on Moto2 series is excluded because we allready have that changed therefore no need to publish the answer.)

Come on lets start already!

1. Is some kind of a 'Search' option on the forum planned to be added?

Debik: This is not planned as of now. But we can think of this possibility.

2. Could we maybe postpone skill-drop of drivers by few years to be more realistic?

Debik: Hmm interesting idea. That would have really high impact on the game. Maybe we can do so for drivers which would be created in the future. Anyway we can discuss pros and cons of this proposal. It should be 100% specified how much we should change it. For everybody currently active or for drivers created after this change? It can cause "overcrowding" with older drivers at the highest rated series. And also it can really change the dynamic of the game. I do not know if to worse or better. Community should discuss it I am opened to every opinion.

3. Why is the automatic extra training's break 2h long?

Debik: It is paid functionality and it affects driver performance. Therefore if we allow it without delay, it would give competitive advantage to licensed users. Now 2 hours delay still gives advantage to licensed users, as they do not need to login to the game quickly after previous training ended, but it can be easy to overcome by not licensed managers, and if manager creates these trainings manually quickly, he can gain small advantage. I think 2 hours delay makes pros and cons of both possibilities balanced.

4. Why are there no new entries in F1 Update?

Debik: I think there have not been many too important changes to F1 which would require this information to be filled. We announced most of the information through commissioner office. Altough I will try to get better in this.

5. Can you tell us more about reliability and its influence on mechanical aggressiveness? For example: A1 car has 970 and guys are driving around 60 MA. IndyJunior cars have 960 but when I set mechanical aggressiveness to 35, failures happen pretty often. So how we should treat this reliability in order to set proper MA?

Debik: Relation between reliability (car manufacturing quality), driver mechanic skill (improves understanding of how to save car parts wear), air temperature (high temperature increases risk of failure due to overheating), track section length (longer section -> higher chance of problem), mechanical aggressivity and technical failures in races are simple probability thing. From these parameters the probability of mechanical failure is calculated. Even lowest aggressivity and highest reliability gives some very low probability of failure... And also cars with worst reliability and usage of highest aggresivity does not guarantee technical failure. Chassis and engine problems are calculated separately.

6. Next year's F1 calendar could have 22 races with Vietnam and the Netherlands added to the current 21 and Germany looking likely to drop off. Will the calendar for the next F1 MRC season be changed as well?

Debik: Yes! Not later than before start of next real F1 season we will change calendar. That will of course result in modification to rating gained in one race to have same ratings in full season with more races in it.

7. Can we maybe change the Nations Car? It's starting to be a bit of an older design, and maybe designers could create a "MRC" car for what's MRC's most own series. I think it could be open to ideas from people, so we make a truly beautiful car. If I were to suggest I'd say a CART Reynard 98I...

Debik: Sounds like a good idea for the future. Not sure about the car you have suggested though. Maybe something which looks like car from current modern era racing.

8. Are there any plans for more F2 series? There is currently a huge ratings gap between F3 and higher series that could be filled.

Debik: I`d like to follow path from real world in F3 - F2 - F1 relationships... There is also super formula and Formula E in this rating category... Ideas to add real life series is what we are more opened to do.

9. I'd love to be able to see my driver's track history from the race strategy page. Similarly to how it is shown on the Previous Races tab. Could that be added to bottom of Race Strategy page perhaps?

Debik: Problem with this is that due to database design and the focus on performance we cannot show races from different seasons on the same page so easily. Altough I am thinking of filter on races page based on track or something like that.

10. I think the sponsor system could be improved. Drivers should be able to negotiate renewing deals with existing sponsors, or even negotiate with new ones. Maybe even engine and chassis in F3 could sponsor drivers on the proviso they HAVE to use that chassis/engine (more variety in F3 chassis). Or even maybe some sponsors pay less but help train your driver more? What do you think?

Debik: It is interesting idea. I am opened to listen to complex proposals. Only rule which should be followed is that it cannot change balance between drivers income and expenses. Otherwise it might spoil game economy. We can discuss this further as I collect ideas about this possible overhaul.

11. Will there be any other kind of team ownership in future other than F1/clubs?

Debik: There is currently opened idea on MotoGP team/manufacturer system. There should be 6 (maybe 7) bike manufacturers -> with 2+2 riders separated to 2 teams (like current Yamaha with Monster and Petronas teams).

12. To differentiate drivers from a start, would you consider "character traits"? For example, an aggressive driver would take more risks but also be better at passing, while a smooth one would save tyres but be less agressive.

Debik: There was such an idea in the past but was not taken positively by community. I don`t remember exactly how it was designed. Something like: Drivers getting some experience points, then for those points it would be possible to purchase something like books. Reading those during training would give driver the special trait. We can discuss it further.

13. Are younger/second drivers a possibility in the future, with karts and F4?

Debik: Yes, this is still plan/possibility for the future.

14. When will the voting portal page be updated with current voting timers? Several of the sites have changed their voting cooldown timers and no longer match MRC's timer. Examples are BrowserGameList (now called BrowserGameRank), which states on their voting page "every 12 hours", but MRC enforces every 24 hours for earning voting points. Others have changed their policies as well, and some of the once-per-day sites do not start the new day at the time MRC says. Since MRC doesn't award voting points if its own timer hasn't expired (even though the site accepted the vote and pinged MRC), it's important to have accurate timers for maximum voting points and maximum exposure for MRC.

Debik: I will investigate and fix the issue.

And thats all for now from Debik! For all of us thank you you took the time to answer our questions.

So as you have seen in the original text we should discuss points 2./10./12.
Respective thread is going to be created on WW forum to keep good view of it --> here.

I'd like to also repeat that we still search for person which would like to take look at Game manual and F1 manual to go through it propose changes find mistakes and fill empty spots. It can be anyone with good english even allready vacant with another admin function.

Thats all for now also from me.
Keep in mind my inbox is the right place to send questions for next press conference.

I wish great season to everyone, have fun and race hard!
