Surprise Weekend Article

Surprise Weekend Article

From the desk of DebiK: After longer consideration and thinking how to bring some variability to the game I came up with this idea. It will create some differences between tracks and driver skills... And more possibilities for long term strategy of driver management. The plan is to launch it for new season.

DebiK and the team are thinking of another type of training, which would be track knowledge training. For example the system could be like this:
1. free training every day, like normal training - manager needs to select track
2. track knowledge can be from 0% to 100%
3. training would be affected by intelligence but not that much as normal training
4. result for training would be 8 + 5% of what is left to 100% so like this
DAY START TRAINING RESULT
1 0 8 + 5 13
2 13 8 + 4 25
3 25 8 + 3 36
4 36 8 + 3 47
5 47 8 + 2 57
6 57 8 + 2 67
7 67 8 + 1 76
8 76 8 + 1 85
9 85 8 + 0 93
10 93 8 + 0 100

5. if you train other track knowledge, then knowledge decreases everyday by 2 + 10% of current knowledge
DAY START DECREASE RESULT
1 100 2 + 10 88
2 88 2 + 9 77
3 77 2 + 8 67
4 67 2 + 7 58
5 58 2 + 6 50
6 50 2 + 5 43
7 43 2 + 5 36
8 36 2 + 4 30
9 30 2 + 3 25
10 25 2 + 3 20
11 20 2 + 2 16
12 16 2 + 2 12
...

6. 100% training result would add 10 points to risk to maximum even to 110, but with no added penalty to mistakes and so on.
7. My estimation is that on Spa driver with 100% track knowledge would get bonus around 0.100 to time with F1 car, on short Bristol 0.010 per lap...

This would bring up new possibilities for strategy on races. Obviously some managers will go for 100% on some tracks, but will have 0% on some other tracks.
Others for example in F1 will go for 3-4 days trainings only so 36-47% knowledge on all tracks...
Those who would decide to pick one track weekly with 7 days training would have 76% during race.
In series where is only one track per week like F3 series, can spend 10 days to get to 100% from Monday to next Wednesday, to have 100% during qualification and have 100% during whole event, and then next week have 0% for another track... Those who would train track for every event would start Q with 36%, first race with 57% and second race 76%.
Imagine the possibilities this training could bring
