Press Releases - World GT Calendar
World GT Calendar
Last season I was involved in the discussion involving changes in the calendar that could make World GT Series even more interesting.
I think that changes that were made were a step in right direction, however I still think there is room for improvement.
In my opinion there are not enough different tracks. Even though we have 25 races in the season, this series is raced on only 15 tracks. With my proposal I would like to remedy that.
So here is my proposal for the World GT Series calendar:
1. Mount Panorama 1000
2. Shanghai International Circuit (Sprint Race)
3. Sakhir Endurance Circuit (Endurance Race)
4. Dubai (Sprint Race)
5. Imola (Endurance Race)
6. Nordschleife 1000
7. Nürburgring (Sprint Race)
8. Circuit Paul Ricard (Endurance Race)
9. Brands Hatch (Sprint Race)
10. Silverstone (Endurance Race)
11. Spa-Francorchamps 1000
12. Zolder (Sprint Race)
13. Zandvoort (Endurance Race)
14. Misano (Sprint Race)
15. Monza (Endurance Race)
16. Le Mans 1000
17. Algarve (Sprint Race)
18. Barcelona (Endurance Race)
19. Potrero de los Funes (Sprint Race)
20. Sebring (Endurance Race)
21. Daytona 1000
22. Mexico City (Sprint Race)
23. Fuji (Endurance Race)
24. Suzuka (Sprint Race)
25. Guia (Endurance Race)
All the venues were or are being used to host GT races. I also tried to create a flow that a real calendar would have.
