Press Releases - This Is Probably Why

This Is Probably Why

The Venting thread on the Worldwide Forum made me think why so many users quit this game. I think we have to split users in two groups for that.

In the first group we have new users. They usually quit in first few days. We all know that first few season can feel a bit boring. This is why I think new users should get a free superlicence for one month. This way they could start customising their cars, helmet,... Basically it would give them more things to do and more reasons to stay. I would put a age limit on certain series. Better tutorial and better manual would help too.

In the second group we have people that quit after retirement of their successful driver. Basically they feel this game is too easy, too boring and tedious. After all this game is all about perseverance and they run out off motivation to do it all over again. One of the reasons is also rating structure.

In my opinion rating structure is completely wrong as it discourages competition. You are penalised if you want to compete with other users and you are rewarded if you stay in lower series and dominate there.
That is boring!

To get my point across I will compare TCS Europe Series with series rating of 1.50, Indy Series with series rating of 2.40 and Formula 1 with series rating of 3.00.

If you would win every pole position and every race you can get 2.022,990 points in TCS Europe Series. On the other hand, if you would always finish 6th in Indy you would only get 1.980,000 points. Now in Formula 1 you would have to be 9th or better, because if you would always finish 10th you would only get 2.000,000 points.

Maybe there was a third group too in the past. users that felt MRC is not evolving. I was almost one of them. Involvement in was the only reason why I stayed. However I am more optimistic now. With new developers I feel and hope that things will get better now.

Over the past 2 years plus since day one of season 17 I have been having a blast playing it. Reason I enjoy this game so much is because of the international diversity. I have been at the forefront trying to build excitement from both my country ho...

Is MRC actually trying to discourage members?

Good day torbar4life, I just read your article and could not agree more. I am a newer player and what you describe is exactly what happened to me. If not for a glass of wine too many one night when I actually decided to get a super licence I was...

Thoughts

I share some of your thoughts torbar, and that's why I'm involved too, in order to help make MRC better. On the first group, new users are indeed hard to keep. Superlicense for a month might help, would give them more time to settle in and decide ...
