[TCS Brasil] Decisive week is upon us
The Brazilian Touring Cars Series - TCS, 5th edition, just completed its 10th race of the season. And what a race was that.
With the early retirement of leading driver Vicente Reckziegell, all the spotlight was upon the two other drivers in striking range to sweap the cup from his hands. The beginning of the racing weeked had Rafael Drummond at 184 points, while Roger Relâmpago was right behind at 181.
Relâmpago had not much problem to grab the pole position and mantain the lead for this race, spacing 40s ahead of Drummond himself, even registering the fastest lap of the race.
That was until the penultimate lap when a safety car was deployed (and one would think it was just bag the win for current 4-times champion Relâmpago), followed by an unnimaginable suspension failure forcing Relâmpago out of the race and Drummond was left to claim an unlikely win.
Last race of the season is about to be announced for Week 11 and it'll feature doubled points. Nonetheless, Drummond has shown to be a very regular driver and dont need to win to make the gap to Vicente and take the title. Relâmpago will have to drive his best and count on lucky (which has not quite been on his side this season).
Here's the Top5 standings:
01 | 227 | Vicente Reckziegel
02 | 214 | Rafael Drummond
03 | 190 | Roger Relâmpago
04 | 183 | Luiz Thomazini
