Clutch Result For Zaggro
It's been a season short of out-right success for 21 year old Britton Mack Zaggro, but the youngster continues to reap the benefits of solid consistency, in lieu of the big boy stats.
Coming into the final weekend of F3 Regional Czech Series. Zaggro picked up an unexpected pole at Brno, and expected to be fighting with close title rivals Alonso, Zanardi and Reis, any of whom could mathematically have taken the title this weekend in a very close fought series to date. However, running away to a 9 second victory margin saw the Brit reclaim the championship lead by a slender 10 points over the Spaniard Alonso who finished 3rd, the pair looking to have edged away from 3rd and 4th to create a tense final race decider, where-in Zaggro simply needs to finish ahead of Alonso to claim his third straight series silverware, and the first Season Series Championship for manager Adamski since the now-retired Ray Striver took the British F3 title in his rookie season many moons ago.
With just 2 wins to his name this season over Alonso's staggering 9! The NOVA youngster has shown that keeping your head down and notching podiums is just as vital to a title run as taking the wins, and securing P1 this season would culminate the junior drivers impressive career start after picking up Series Bronze and Silver respectively at F3 Portugal since graduating from his Rookie Series debut season.
The pair will start P1 and P3 for Sunday's deciding race, and for two very differing stories, both drivers are more than deserved of the top spot this season!
