Press Releases - "Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes" - Blazefp retires

"Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes" - Blazefp retires

Some of you might have seen this one coming but for most of you might this might come as a bit of a shock.

I've played MRC for a very long time, been here since this was just beta and the official series weren't released yet. At that time reaching rating 40, the top rating in Portugal, seemed like a never ending task () but I was willing to give it a try. Boy if I knew what was waiting for me...

Last 4 and a half years were great to me in MRC. I've never before hit worldwide success in anything and it does get you some sense of superiority, after all I can safely and correctly say "I'm better than you in MRC" to pretty much everyone, but that leads nowhere except getting your name on everyone's black list. Oscar Wilde once said "I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself." and I subscribe that entirely, in the MRC world wanting to keep knowledge to oneself is not just selfish but also coward and unfair play. Not to mistake "good advice" with "administrative secrets" in F1 of course.

So after all this why leave? No, I didn't get tired of MRC, no, there's no quarrel between admins (not too much at least) and I do like the path MRC is taking although that's not to say I would do everything exactly like it's being done. After all these years I haven't failed to log in everyday because it's required if you want to win races but I just need to get free of that obligation right now.

To the rookies reading this, my advice is the title of this PR, also words from Oscar Wilde. If something isn't working well and you don't know why it probably isn't bad luck you're just doing something wrong and you haven't realised it yet. Ask questions, talk to people, watch races from the big guys, learn. We all make mistakes, it's our ability to learn from them and do better that drives you forward.

A final word of thanks to everyone that helped me somehow here and a manly hug to all the friends I made here from around the world, you're too many to name here but you know who you are.
