Press Releases - SRC S19 UK and EURO Review

SRC S19 UK and EURO Review

The SRC UK and EUROs championship has taken it's biggest hit this season, somebody who was able to challenge reigning champion Jackson Storm was Marcus Ripley, as Ripley kept on improving, it wasn't enough to stop Storm from being champion once again. As for me, I will once again review in what was a fun season for the Brits.

Before I start, I'm running out of time to do a perfect review, when I had to really do that, it was within the 20 days and I'm becoming less active on MRC with karting, sport, gym and stuff, I don't have any time to be on the internet 24/7 and resource through all of the races, so I sincerely do apologise for my lateness.

UK:
The safety car decided the first race of the season at Bedford as it was deployed because of a crash caused by Neil Wilson, it decided the race results really, since Bennett took the win by 11 seconds from Steve Bernard, Paul Edward took the final podium spot. Leo Brianson kick-started his season as he crossed in 5th, the only NOVA (I will tell you in a minute) of Jay Wellington qualified in such a promising position but slipped back in the race where he belonged as it'll be like that once Welly will work on his race pace.
Where was Paul Dover to start with? Oh right, Paul Dover was suspended by the NOVA team for underpeforming in the Indy series, and was demoted back down to the Formula 3 Africa Series (which he would dominate without doubt).
Jackson Storm then resumed normal service for the next 3 races, doing the Grand Chelem and also putting in a consistent drive which meant that he was able to win by 20-30 seconds. But onto the Mallory Park Oval, Jackson Storm was just doing his job, once he retook the lead, his gearbox failed, giving Marcus Ripley the victory.
Coming to the fast track of Thurxton that is, we had our best race of the season, Jackson Storm was surprisingly off the pace, as Shoemaker took pole, Ricky Higham's LOLA suited the starights around here and started 3rd on the grid, Jackson Storm dropped out of contention for the win, leaving it down to Ripley, Shoemaker and Higham, as Higham and Ripley battled it out head to head, Shoemaker was just watching the action behind, with his popcorn and praying they take each other out, but they did on Lap 47, at the Turns 9/10 chicane, Marcus Ripley lost the lead, tried to take it back but hit the sidepod with his front wing slightly, the parts flew, Shoemaker almost getting involved but thanks to his experience, skill and brilliant reaction time, he avoided it but he didn't profit from it like we predicted, gifting our new face on the top step, Ricky Higham winning his first of many races to come in the SRC, Shoemaker settled for 2nd, while Ripley coming home in 3rd, knowing that he hasn't done enough to decrease Storm's lead as much as he wanted to, when he really had to. At the end Storm won by 55 points to Ripley, Bennett took 3rd by just a margin to Shoemaker, Wellington showing more of his skills in 6th, Leo Brianson only scored one point in the last 3 races, that has done enough damage to what could've been his perfect UK season. Chris Kemp is on his last legs, only finishing 12th, failing to get on the podium. New faces, Alec Black, Jerry Stallard and Benjamin Lovell Sr. finishing 18th, 24th and 27th respectively.

EUROS:
We once again brought our Irish friends McCoy and Davis to come on and play with us and as a present, they invited us to their Mondello Park Circuit, along with that Valencia is the only track that we raced on with last season that we're using this season, as well with 2 races at Italy (Rome and Monza) and the 3 Isle of Man Courses and yes I know they were long but we'll wait and see. ;)
Paul Dover is back but he hasn't won his NOVA livery back yet.

McCoy was home favourite to start with but once he took the wrong chassis, he sent himself back foot. Allowing Storm to win both races (2nd race was wet and chaotic). He did it at Paris as well and the first Valencia Race before McCoy finally stopped him in the 2nd one. Murdoch Bennett became king at the Czech Ring as he won both races, it was Marcus Ripley's go at the tough and physical circuit near the Helsinki Beach, Shoemaker took his chance when Ripley suffered an early exit. Dover starred in that race as he took the podium spot, which was enough to win his NOVA kit back before we reach the 2nd half of the season, Wellington recovered from an early crash he had in the first race to finish in 7th after having a tough time through traffic but it was pretty much damage limitation there.
Marcus Ripley took in what was the UNREALISTIC, BEST WIN OF THE SEASON, HIS BEST WIN OF HIS CAREER at the 2nd race at Rome, having suffered an early exit once again, he charged through the field to win the race, not even Storm could stop him. But it was pretty much Safety Car inflicted so I'd say it was kinda an aid to Ripley.
The craziness started from Monza, as McCoy took his chances as Storm couldn't win any of the races since the rest of the circuits will be LOL dependant, Righam starred at Monza as well, finishing in the runner-up spot in both of the races to McCoy. The final 6 races at the Isle of Man were a results changer, defavouring the title cotenders a bit but it was helping McCoy alot as he could maybe be the one to stop the almighty, dominant Jackson Storm. Storm will need alot of luck because of what I mentioned about the chassis and that. Alright, Jay Wellington became the first NOVA to win at Billown, another new winner became David Lawley at the Clypse Course, he wasn't able to repeat it as he suffered a technical issue, giving it to the other NOVA boy Paul Dover, Jonny Herbert and Wilsean Dahir surprisingly making it on the podium.
The races had to be held on the same day because of the thunderstorms that would be coming up. To Snaefell, only having 3 laps, 1 lap of racing maybe due to Safety Car. So qualifying position and racecraft mattered alot.
Jackson Storm managed to run with the title by 18 points to McCoy, Bennett in 3rd, Ripley 4th, Dover making it to the top 5 as he topped his NOVA team-mate Wellington, and he's defo gonna stay on the long-term.

Thanks for reading, sorry for the rush, was desperate to get it done, let's see what S20 can bring!!! WILL SOMEONE BE ABLE TO STOP JACKSON STORM?
