Nova Expands

Team reporter Mike Raffone recently spent some time at the season-end celebrations held by NOVA Sport, though this occasion saw far more names on the guest list.

Completing the teams basic goals for the season was reason enough to party for 19 year old Jay Wellington, finishing 46th overall in Rookie Series as the teams initial projections were for Top 50. Though Jay laments losing a sizeable chunk of points earlier in the season as the crew were double booked at the teams first annual Chilli Cook-off, and several non-finishes that would arguably have put him Top 20. But BBQ chicken and doughnut platters were not the sole focus of this gathering; Mike Raffone reports:

"The air is thick with the smell of burning rubber, and 11 herbs and spices as NOVA Sport reflect on a positive season, not only for their standing driver Jay, but also for fellow 19 year old British rookie Paul Dover, who after season long negotiations has joined the NOVA ranks, merging his own privateer crew Mad Seagull with the fledgling British outfit. Paul brings a new aspect to the team, a driver similar to Wellington, but managed very differently by manager Mattseagull, both of whom aim to dominate their respective future series'."

"Our garages have always been next door to one another this season, we pretty much just knocked a wall through. Dover will be able to run his own liveries and seek to race wherever he pleases under the NOVA banner, which preliminary sketches show will be adorned across his engine cover, though we are yet ready to formally launch our Season 15 chassis' and new(ish) colour scheme... said manager Adamski, before quickly becoming distracted by a supersize peanut butter milkshake...

As is the norm with NOVA, there is no official word on where their drivers will race next season, though early indications show a second running in Rookie for Dover, while Wellington aims for F3 Nationals.
