Mission Accomplished
When Kasey Hilton climbed out of his wrecked car at the finale in Spa-Francorchamps and came to the pit lane earlier, we tried to grab a word with him, but his personal assistant Jill Graham denied us access. She told us that he was upset about losing a potential top ten finish. Kasey was running in 8th place when he binned it at Campus, the 16th section of the track.
When all had settled several hours later, Kasey finally decided to accept our request to interview him. He had clearly composed himself and gotten over his mistake. Chuck Charles was able to catch a word with the 24-year-old American, and Kasey was nothing but positive and all smiles when asked about his season.
"Firstly, I want to give thanks to Yevgheni Bazhenov and Giovanni Morbidelli. Those guys have been a tremendous help, and I'm glad they have offered their services for next season. Of course, I shall not forget all of those generous fans who offered their services to me when I needed to pit. We decided to save our funds for ... *ahem* cheesecake, since I heard a lot of the other drivers raving about it. I wasn't disappointed! Oh, and I want to give a special shoutout to a fan who goes by the name of 'Mater'; he was very loyal and was always around to lend a hand at pit stops. I felt great knowing I allowed someone to achieve their dreams of being in a pit crew; even if it was for just a couple of races. Also, I want to thank Acell, Rempo, and Energy Drink for the amiable support and faith they have put in me throughout the season. I am delighted that I met their expectations.
The best thing about this season for me... I have had great pace everywhere I have raced at this season. I was smooth and consistent in all the custom series I participated in, and 3rd place in the 22nd edition of the Herkules Trophy was a highlight I will long cherish for sure. I also met my goal of finishing in the top ten in the final standings for the F3 Benelux Series. I feel as though I could have gotten higher if we hadn't made those mistakes, but there's no denying I have had a great time. My routine was pretty much the same as it was throughout last season, and it's really paying dividends. I've gotten to know my manager better as well. We communicate well and always search for the best in each other. She's helped me in many ways. I kind of feel like I've exceeded my own expectations, really. It's definitely a mission accomplished, especially when I got Natalia to smile after several races!"
Kasey is already looking forward to Season 13, as he is yet again moving up the ranks, promoting to the Asian Formula Three Series.
"I feel as though it's a great step forward for us. If I can achieve even half as much as I did in the Benelux Series when I embark on my Asian journey, I will be super happy. I'm already prepared for Season 13!"
