Press Releases - Kalembene - Season 11 was my best EVER

Kalembene - Season 11 was my best EVER

Wais Kalembene came started 91 races, finished like 2/3 of them and finished in the top 10, 27 times, top 5, 6 times and only 1 podium but nonetheless, he says it's his most successful season ever on MRC and Joey Ronaldson interviews the 23-year old Brit.

Ronaldson: So Wais, this has to be the best season you've ever done on MRC...

Kalembene: Yep, and I'm proud of it

R: You were pretty good in some custom series.

K: About that, I did very good at Lucky Racing, being consistent in the points most of the times but I couldn't get a podium unforunately, I was close but I got taken out by another driver. Then at Hungarian Trophy, I only benefitted at the Hungaoring so only 8 points and then at the Beach Cup, by the second half of the season, I felt alive. I scored points in the 5 out of the remaining 8 races, I damaged the car at Helsinski Feature and Kilarney Feature (still got points but lost the podium), spun at Valencia Feature and had a front left wheel nut failure that made me crash at Kilarney Sprint.

R: And also at the second half of the F3 World Series, you were mainly in the points too.

K: Not much, I was only around in the top-15 or so but yea, that was some hell of progess.

R: So what were your moments?

K: I'd say that overtaking the F3 World Series Champ at Spa was the best feeling in the world, well pretty much 7 guys plus me got past him and then I held Voldunas and Eros (F3 Champ) off to get my career-best result at F3 World Series.

R: Hopefully you can try and be more consistent next season.

K: I'll need that before jumping into F2.

R: Your potentials?

K: There were alot, I can't say them really, I lose it due to reliabilty issues so that is something I should fix.

R: Your regrets?

K: Pitting at the SC period to the end of the race, the pit box was useless and I lost my first win due to being such a dumbass, that was going to be an easy win :(

R: Hopefully you can get it by next season, you're not the only one who loses it

K: Yeea...

R: I ran out of time, hopefully S12 can get better for you.

K: Cheers!!!
