Preview Close Gap Trophy (Moto Private)
Scheduled to start on 22/04, the "Close Gap Trophy" caravan will travel to the Asian continent to visit a mythical place in the history of motorsport, we open hostilities on the Suzuka circuit "East" version.
With 19(for now) young talents on the grid, will we see the future MRC "Moto1" or "Superbike World Series" champion graduating here?
For the trophy it is impossible to risk a first prediction to win so let's wait for the first km in Suzuka to understand who will be the most and least favorites, one thing is certain the competition promises to be fierce and "Close".
But here we launch 3 names that we should look out for at the start of the competition.
-Ricardo Barrichello last season(55) comes from a 3rd and 4th place in the "Support World Peace Moto (U25)" and a perhaps even more prestigious 6th place in the "Moto3 World Series", his high point being the victory at Sachsenring, also achieving 8 Top5 and 17 Top10, which earned him promotion to the "Moto2 World Series" this season(56) in addition to his presence in the "Close Gap Trophy".
-Francisco Trincao III achieved a 7th place in the "Beach MotoCup VIII (U25)" and another 7th place in the "Moto3 World Series" behind Ricardo Barrichello, the difference between them was just 4 points.
Trincao achieved 7 Podiums, 13 Top5 and 13 Top10, we will see the Portuguese and the Brazilian fight again on the "Close Gap Trophy" tracks.
-Reine Peterson achieved an excellent 2nd position in the "Moto3 Junior Series" achieving 4 victories, 15 Podiums, 16 Top5, 17 Top10, adding to this 3 Pole Positions and 8 Fastest Laps, earning him the promotion to the "Moto3 World Series" where he will go meeting Francisco Trincao III, also in the "Close Gap Trophy" they will compete for the trophy.
These are the 3 with the most experience and career in MRC Motorcycling present in the "Close Gap Trophy".
In addition to these, we are sure that more names will come to the fore in the "Close Gap Trophy", we have names like Ann-Cha Nilsson, a rider with the highest "Rating" present in the trophy but with a career more focused on 4 wheels, such as Carson Wrecks or Brando Badoer.
See you all in Suzuka, on 22/04 for the big start of the "Close Gap Trophy".
Good luck to all the riders.
