Lindquist disapointed after missing out on maiden Nations Cup win
Starting from sixth position in the U-21 Nations Cup race in Brasília Felix Lindquist seemed to like the wet conditions and early made it up to P2. What then followed was a fight between Lindquist and Viviani for the lead, the two switching positions many times. Then, on lap 16, disaster struck. While trying to overtake Viviani, Lindquist made a mistake and caused a collision between the two. The collision caused some repairable damage on Vivianis car but Lindquist unfortunatly couldn't continue and missed out not only on a certain second Nations cup podium but also on a possible win.
Felix Lindquists take on it:
"It's tough. When you're fighting for your first Nations Cup win and crash out like that, it's just really hard to take in. But it was my fault, i made a mistake and i will have to move on. I'm sorry for Viviani who didn't get a fair fight for the victory and I'm also really sorry for Team Sweden because we could have had alot of points and instead we got nothing"
Felix manager Kasper Cederlund also had a comment on it:
"He drove so well until the incident. I was really happy until then because it was the first time we were fighting for the lead in nations cup. I was really exited and full of hope. And then he makes this mistake and crashes out. The first thing i did was just bang the table really hard. He shouldn't have gone for that move. But he's young and still takes alot of risks. Then you make mistakes. It's just how racing is. Lot's of highs but also lots of lows"
