Talking to NASC Truck Series Points leader Doodle
Kman-What are you worried about martinsvill?
Doodle-We don't really have any concerns about Martinsville. With the win at Talladega we've put our entire focus on Phoenix.
Kman-What are you doing to prepare for the champtionship at Phoenix?
Doodle- I've been on the simulator running laps since I got to my trailer after we won last race. I've put probably 5,000 laps in on the simulator, and we're ready to put 200+ in on race weekend. We've been training the mechanics hard to maximize every second in the pit lane and every piece of the truck's setup. No stages means mistakes are magnified, so we're focusing on limiting the mistakes that killed our chances to win in Phoenix the last 2 seasons, even as the under dog in the final 4 for both races.
Kman- How are you feeling about racing in the NASC Sivler series next season?
Doodle-I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Looking forward to continuing to drive hard with Sean [Molloy] and getting back on the track with Bela Villanyi. I'm putting a lot of effort into getting ready for the longer races. I put a lot of time in the gym this season and I'm working with an awesome team of trainers to help get my reactions, focus, and concentration to where it needs to be now that I'll be adding an extra 100 miles+ to each race, plus racing an extra race every week. I think my crew chief said it's something like 3,000 extra miles of racing in the same amount of time. It's going to take a lot of focus and energy to get used to that change.
