Talking to driver # 5
TD: Today we have a special round, a young manager, hi Limes and his young pilot hi Cassius. I am happy to welcome you to this interview.
L: Thank you very much for having us.
CM: Yeah, it's a pleasure to be doing the interview.
TD: Limes, you have been a manager in motorsport for a relatively short period of time. How do you manage in this business where the fight is tough? With Cassius you have a very talented pilot under contract, how do you work on his development, how do you rate his chances of success?
L: Yeah that's right, with little experience in managing within motorsport I spent as much time as I could hitting the books and learning as much as I could as well as talking to other managers out there and trying to absorb the experiences that they had gained. As much as the Pilot needs to be making sure to do his job on the track, I have to make sure I'm able to do the best I can off the track.
Cassius is a very talented young driver, we're currently working on making him and team one cohesive machine making sure we're able to get the most out of him through the capabilities of the team. As well as this we're doing our best to give Cassius options with sponsorship, so building up our connections and making sure he has opportunities to Interact with these is important to be able to fund his future.
Working on these first we’re hoping this will give Cassius as long a time as possible to be able to keep developing himself. Hopefully this will lead to a long and successful career as I believe he has what it takes to be able to give the best drivers a run for their money when the time comes.
TD: Cassius, after a few test races last season you are currently driving your first full season in the F4 Balkan Series and are there with 256 points in 10th place, only 4 points behind the 7th. that is a very good achievement for such a young driver. In addition to your official series, you can often be seen at Skoda trainings, what is that about?
CM: Yeah, the season is going really well, our aim for the first season was to get 10th place which just over halfway into the season looks possible. Like you said 7th place is only 4 points away from where we stand currently so I will be pushing to get the best finish we can.
The Skoda trainings have been something that my manager was able to get me invited along to. It's been able to give me the ability to get more experience on tracks as well as get feedback and advice from the other drivers there that have been around and are willing to pass on that knowledge they have gained.
TD: So you can say you are completely within the set goals, I am glad to hear that. What does the future look like, is a change to another series planned for the next season, possibly a jump into one of the F3 series? How are you currently planning further development, do you get further support?
CM: It's likely that we're going to be remaining in F4 for the next few years. Which series exactly I'm not sure as it will depend on where and when at the end of each season seems most appealing.
L: Development wise we're going to continue focusing down the same route we're currently on as mentioned earlier. After that it's likely we'll look into perfecting Cassius's driving and mental abilities.
TD: That sounds very promising. I will continue to watch this with excitement. Maybe we'll see each other again at one of the Skoda driver training courses. Thanks for this interview and good luck on the racing tracks of the world.
L: Thank you
CM: Thanks.
