Formula 1 changes
First I would like to say that if I make a comment on any Formula 1 related issue read is as a torbar4life’s comment not as Porsche Racing owner’s comment. In fact some other Porsche members have a different opinion on this subject. I would also like to stress that (unlike some) I never assess changes as a F1 team owner. I always look at “what would be best for the game” and not at “what would be best for the team I am involved with”.
I would also like to say is that I am not against changes, in fact I am for them when they make this game better. Changes also give you a shoot for a rapid improvement or they can start a speedy decline that would otherwise not be possible.
However even though I would like to see more tyre compounds, option to set different aggression for each stint, starting the race on tyres that you set your fastest lap in qualy,… I don’t think now is the right time to introduce those changes. In my opinion we need to address other issues that are far more important first, for example making running F1 team more challenging and complex. As I see it at the moment success of F1 team depends 70% on team's drivers and 30% on managers running the team. I would like this to be more balanced and introducing tyre changes would make a team’s successes even more dependent on a driver, when in real Formula 1 it’s exactly opposite. Just ask Fernando Alonso.
I the end I would like to remind DebiK on something else. I must say I was very disappointed when “Revolutionary parts” idea was shot down. Even though most comments were positive, this change was canceled because top teams were against it. I would like if development resources were put to good use on a project like this one.
Just a simple response
I see where your coming from but I personally see a 50 50 between driver skill, and car/management as a better idea as that way having the #1 driver means you don't automatically win. Where finances and sponsors actually do impact how the game is pla...
Revolutionary parts Idea
I concur I thought this was a good suggestion or something similar to this.. When developing new parts and new technologies there should be something reflecting critical success.. A breakthrough so to speak.. Yet often times breakthroughs also comes...
