Interviewing the very best... #2
Today, we're going to somewhere else than Russia. To home of Tour de France and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Today, we're interviewing SatF1 with his driver Romain Louis Grosjean Jr.
1.)You are one of the best managers here, currently your driver is occupying 2nd place in overall standings. Do you feel that you're better than others?
I do not exactly know what better than others means ... if you think being better than others is having more points than them then Yes i'm probably better than many others. But I am not here for that, i am here to have nice battle on tracks ...
2.) What was your long-term goal?
As I said this is a game and I just want to have fun BUT one of my goal was to be F1 champion with Red Bull and help the team to stay number one after the retirement of the best all time driver Philippe de Saint-Germain Jr who was 5 times in a row F1 champion.
I managed to be two times F1 champions and we are still with Red Bull number one.
3.) Does your driver have something more to learn? He is 30 years old, so there is a space to grow stronger.
There is alway something more to learn. At this point we are calculating a complex function that gives you the correct setup on rain tracks with the input of race type, humidity and tyre level.
I will soon be at level 100 on each characteristics, so not much to learn on this side.
4.) Do you remember your beginning?
Oh Yes, i was doing mistakes all the time but i had a perfect teacher who was Philippe de Saint-Germain Jr ... He learned me all i know today.
5.) Do you think that there are French managers, who can replace you, when your driver retires?
Of course we have many good pilots that will be able to replace me when I retire and we have at least 3 generations of drivers at the Red Bull Academy ...
6.) What is your favourite driver and favourite team?
My favorite all time driver is Philippe de Saint-Germain Jr of course ... Fice time F1 champion in a row ... just incredible ...
If i have a lokk at none retired driver I like how Zatacka, novikov and Lamy are driving.
My favorite team is of course Red Bull but i think you have already understood ;) !
7.) Do you recommend training as fast as possible, or slow and steady?
You have to train as fast as possible of course but there is a correct order to developp your driver.
8.) Any newbie tips and tricks? What worked for you?
The important thing is to have good advices from older managers and to exchange as often as possible. At REd Bull we have the REd Bull Academy for that.
9.) So you're french. Can you teach us some phrases we can use in french language?
OK here some some phrases i regularly use : i'll let you discover what it means with google :)
Fais chier j'ai encore merdé mon setup
La vache il a encore bourriné avec le règlage moteur
Il va se pousser avec sa boîte à savon lui
Là il est dans le mur avec sa Jordan (special one for Novikov in Malaysia)
Et une nouvelle victoire pour Red Bull
And nether forget this is just a game, a good game, but only a game.
See you soon on the tracks ;)
BIG THANKS to everyone who read this interview to the end. And BIG THANKS to SatF1 for the interview. Good luck to all drivers and managers and have a nice day!
