Interviewing the very best... #1
That's the first time ever I am doing an interview in other than Slovak language, with one of the best managers here; Somebodystopme. It's a bit LONGER reading than others in here, but if you are patient, you can learn a lot of interesting facts!
So, let me start with, I think, basic questions:
1.) Who are you, what can you tell us about your personality. You are Russian, so you have close to Slovaks.
Well, I'm married, I've got a 3 years old son, his name is Dima (Damon in English meaner). My driver was named in his honor. But on the other hand, I've got "Damon" on my helmet's livery.-)
I'm watching F1 for about 20 years, and I was always Ferrari's fan. I don't have the favorite pilot, and of course I'm pleased to see the young Russian driver Dany Kviat in F1.
I like sport at all, different kinds. As for me, I was playing tennis for a long time, I was the champion of my region, but I've started to play too late, I was 12 years old, so I couldn't afford to rise higher, and I retired.
Russian's, in order, are close to Slovaks, we have a lot of similar things, language may be, the difference is only in the sizes of our countries -)))
2.) Do you remember the beginning of all? Signature of Novikov and first seasons in Formula 3?
2) I won the beta version of the game and I was wanted to save my pilot, my aim was to win the highest ranked series, and I've done it in the 2nd season. I won the World F2 series, and become the best pilot of the season. So, I've achieved my main aim of the game. When I finished with the "first" Noikov, I had started the next one. I knew the most everything and I had got a plan for at least 5 seasons.
Yes, I remember my first seasons with Damon, we were always fought with better skilled drivers, but he was smart enough to take high prizes.
The most interesting things started at the age of 23, when Damon won F2 World championship. He had been loosing about 13 points, if I remember right, before the last weekend in Interlagos, but he took the pole, and two victories in the last two races and became the Champion!
Seasons, when he was 24 and 25 were awesome. That was two seasons in Indy, and Damon won twice in a row without any chances for other drivers, and after that he became Jordan driver...
3.) Do you have any future goals you want to achieve?
Future goals - no... Now I'm playing for fun. My second goal was, after winning F2 World with my first driver, was to become the F1 champion. I did it! -))
There are a lot of small goals: Champions Cup(I was close several times, but something always happend), may be to win A1 in drivers championship, but on the other hand, I was 2nd once, behind under 21 driver, so this is like the first place, and I want to win CC in F1.
4.) You are one of the TOP Managers with TOP Drivers here, what is the difference between you and other people?
Actually, I don't know. MRC is simple game on the first look, but that is not true. There are lot's of detalies wich you have to know and always remember. If not - you will loose.
5.) Can you tell us, especially beginners some tips and tricks? What to do with money, car and driver?
1. Do not hurry, the game is very very long, and you have to have a ot of patience
2. Read manual, guides and rules.
3. Race a few weeks with any driver to find track setups, and change drivers to know wich skilles you need for the first. Try to know the game.
4. Find mentor(mentors)
5 Ask questions, lot's of questions.
I can write what to do with money, driver, etc... But this is for another article...
6.) Do you plan what would you do after retiring of Novikov?
For now, I'm planning to start with new driver, I miss F3 championships -))
7.) Do you think there are Russians who can replace you, when will your driver retire?
Well, all of you perfectly knows the situation in A1. Russia won 3 seasons in a row and we are going to win the 4th one this year. We will have 8 russian drivers in F1 next season. There are 6 russian pilots in the top 10 of U25 rating.
Yes, there would be plenty of skilled russians very soon, I'm working on that more than 10 seasons.
Will some of them be so succesfull as me, I don't know, we will see.
Thank you, if you have another questions or my answers were not full - let me know.
Big THANKS to Somebodystopme for letting me put this interview here, and thanks for the interview itself. Thanks for your time, dear readers. I'm open to any questions, I'll actively answer all messages if someone had things to say. I think, we can make this like twice a month, interviewing the best of us.
Goodbye and good luck :)
