Unprecedented Results

As Season 13 drew to a close, and Season 14 came around, many drivers took the lull in activity as an opportunity to test themselves in what is arguably the toughest arena in F3: The Single Race.

One such driver is UK rookie Jay Wellington, who not only partook of these races, but managed to turn a few heads early on by qualifying his NOVA F3 well above expectations on numerous occasions, namely where Wellington pulled out a monster lap to secure 5th in Mexico City in just his sixth career outing! Bettered by going one better at Castle Coombe qualifying 5th, and out performing some highly rated drivers literally thousands of places above the Brit in rankings, one driver even boasting 20 points of driving skill superiority over the youngster.

But as Season 14 began, many believed status quo would re-initiate, which it did for the most part as Welly registered mostly in the teens for qualifying... That is until Day 2, where, in just his 16th career start, Wellington managed to convert a 7th place Qually into a mighty 2nd place podium finish on the Beijing Streets circuit. This just a short while after dominating his debut Rookie Series qualifyer, placing in pole position by well over half a second!

Its far too early to call any sort of form for a driver so young. So hopefully this seasons results will paint the picture...
