Blazefp quits F1 - Interview - Part 2

Part 2

I: Why leave though? Why not discuss this matter and work on some solutions?

Blazefp: Oh this isn't the first time I'm making this problems public, not at all. In fact I and many others have already worked out some solutions that we believe would keep F1 a community project as it is now and would solve the issuing shares problem. You see the only reason issuing shares has made F1 a pay2win project is that large injection of cash, if we lower it the teams that are abusing it won't be able to do much more than to savage their team's finances instead of getting a big boost every year. If the money generated by the issuing shares was better controlled it'd only help teams financially unstable to get back up their feet and help the other teams improve a bit. Everyone'd be happy and the team image feature would once again make sense.
There're some ways to keep direct control over the money of issuing shares - set a maximum roof; making it related to the past season's earnings instead of the current one including the past season's issuing shares cash; trade this issuing shares for a "boost pack" of 6M for 1500 coins only available to lower and middle tier teams; making it related to the rating as well as the team image - as well as other not so straight but still effective ways - create a maximum amount of debt per week (real thing in the Champions league, teams can't lose more than 5M/month); create merchandise sales with a 5M roof that also depends on the team image; etc.
I understand that some of these measures would currently be harmful to implement to some teams due to their managing style unless they changed it but they'd certainly make the game more balanced and fair for everyone.

I: But you didn't leave F1, you still have the same shares on WAR as before.

Blazefp: Correct, I'm thinking of selling some of my shares but I don't want to sell them all, I still believe F1 can change so I want to keep a foot there just in case. However I'll be nothing more than a silent shareholder, I won't partake in any F1 affairs as a manager/shareholder, only with my driver if he gets any proposals.

I: This means your driver is up for choice in F1?

Blazefp: Yes! ANY team can offer my driver a seat in F1, I'll still prefer WAR but Lamy can race for any team given the correct proposal.

I: That means only you decided to leave F1, your driver is still up for choice, that's good to know. But then why now? You must have seen this coming for a long time, why leave only now?

Blazefp: That's true, I've noticed it since some teams decided to deliberately lower/give up on their image in order to get more share issuing money. That's why my decision to leave F1 was made a couple of seasons ago, but I couldn't leave WAR when it was on a spiral of bad results, I felt like I'd be abandoning it. So I decided to wait until WAR got their projects straight and showed some signs of improvement before leaving. That time has arrived and here I am resigning my job of managing WAR. Some of my closest friends in MRC already knew about this for a long time.

I: Aren't you afraid that with you gone WAR might fall back into the spiral of bad results?

Blazefp: Not at all, me and the rest of the team used to work very closely on an external forums with over 5000 posts written so what I know, they know. I also left some data and useful information for Bornelas and I know they can take care of things from now on, they're a great team and everyone of them is a very capable manager. WAR will only get stronger from now on, I'm sure of it. I fully trust their skills.

And so comes to an end this long long interview explaining the reasons behind Blazefp's resignation in F1.
We wish him the best and hope he might one day get back at running a F1 team,
till then, keep your pedal to the medal!

F1... The ultimate motor sport. It's the dream of every driver to race there, of every engineer to work there and of every manager to rule one of its teams. It's counter-intuitive to think that anybody would quit the highest job of a successful te...
