Brovar and Psikuta to race for Pegaso in season 44

The Spanish Formula One team has already decided who will drive the Z-206 car, however, it is still unknown who is going to take the second seat of next season's machine.

In the middle of a tough season for the most powerful men on the Formula One business, mainly on everything related to regulation changes proposed by DebiK for the future of the sport, the Pegaso team has announced the renewal of Jarosław Psikuta for two more seasons and the multiannual signing of Evgen Brovar from season 44 onwards.

This news came as a surprise for most F1 fans, as Pegaso is announcing its season 44 while there is still a free spot on their car of season 43. They also doubt if Psikuta's advanced age (he will be 37 years old at the beginning of S44) and Brovar's inexperience will be able to help the flying horse's team.

"No, it is not a mistake, I haven't skipped a season. It's a situation very similar to this season's one, so we think it's no point to waste time on something which is not our future, that's why we have anticipated so much our duo for season 44. All our resources will be spent from there onwards, that's why I wanted to make emphasis on Evgen's multiannual deal. Doing this can be a good idea or maybe not, but at least there will be no one who can say we haven't tried it. We have already prepared things for top teams, now it's time for us to look for becoming one" - were nicorz's words after being asked by the media, ultimately referring to Philip Goldberg III's, who moved from Pegaso to McLaren at the beginning of season 42 and with whom Pegaso's team manager said there is 'a good friendship'.

As mentioned before, DebiK has announced some changes to Formula One's future, for example, the implementation of a budget cap or the possibility to allow teams selling engines to others. Neither nicorz nor JordiMontané wanted to give their opinion about this, considering that "we have it, but as it has been seen, it's better not to make it public. In this way, Pegaso becomes the first team to close their lineup for season 44, getting rid of a problem and being able to mainly focus on the development of tools which can give them that quality jump they are looking for.
