An interview with WEC creator of the ''Crazy Canuck Serie''
This is the first of a series of planned interviews with WEC, this one is regarding the Crazy Canuck Serie.
VRN: Thank you for taking the time to be with us today Mr. Coyote.
WEC: ''WileE'' please, My pleasure, thank you for having me.
VRN: Ok thanks WileE, how long have you been a manager in F3?
WEC: I have been a manager since season 26, I immediately took interest in the F3 serie, but Randy also has interests in Private cars (P1, P3 and Sport X) as well as in motorcycle.
VRN: Yes, Randy Runner is your driver we hear he can be quite a crazy bird, is he the first driver you managed?
WEC: Yes Randy can be eccentric and has an aggressive attitude on the track but he has good humour and character. The team was different for a few weeks at the beginning but we re-organized and Randy joined at that point.
VRN: Being a relatively new manager with a young driver must keep you quite busy, why add the Crazy Canuck Serie to your schedule?
WEC: Yes learning how to be a good manager for the team in general and managing a talent like Randy keeps me busy and at first managing Randy's temperament was a challenge he is very competitive and the racing series I entered him in were frustrating. This is why I decided to create the CC serie.
VRN: What do you mean by it lead you to create the CC serie?
WEC: Well Randy was often frustrated having to race against amateurs or racing against season professionals, we talked it over and it forced me to look at the serie more closely. I realized that there was really little offered where new professional drivers could compete against drivers the same age as them, so from there the solution became obvious.
VRN: So was is the goal of the CC serie?
WEC: The Crazy Canuck Serie travels around the world and we visit a number of tracks in each country. The serie is reserved to young drivers to give a more levelled playing field to the participants and at this point the age increases every season. It is not perfect since age is not the only factor but we intend to work with the organization to create a level playing field for drivers with similar rating and experience. The main goal of the serie is to provide experience of the F3 racing circuit and many tracks to young drivers, this is how the serie is setup, I invite you and all to go have a look!
VRN: Well the invitation is sent I am sure many will go have a look. By the way, where does the Crazy Canuck name come from?
WEC: Ha ha, Canuck is the short name for Canadian and I am Canadian. In the early 1980s a Canadian olympic ski team was... Eccentric and nick named the Crazy Canuck this is where the name comes from!
VRN: Well thanks again for your time WileE, maybe we can have you again in the future?
WEC: Certainly, cheers and see you in the pits!
