Behind the wheel: Curzio Igiri
Today we'll tell you about the young man which made his debut in F3, revealing unusual talent. A driver that - you can bet on it - will get himself talked about: Curzio Igiri.
Son of a renowned doctor, he began racing (fairly late for those who want to enter this world as a pro) for delight more than vocation.
In the first karting years he hasn't shined but once he arrived to the first Formula type class (thanks to the financial support from his father), something in Curzio appear to have been changed; he began to show a commitment and seriousness hidden until then. Results were not slow in coming and immediately he won, twice in a row, the Italian Formula Junior Championship.
The rest is latter-day history, already with a seventh final place in Long Distance Cup IV to his name, a series that requires lot of experience and smart and conservating driving: good strategy rewards more than raw talent.
During the last race, the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, at the end of the free practice we asked him what in his opinion allowed him to racing as veteran despite his inexperience.
This is his answer about:
This competition helped me to understand the attitude of this kind of cars and, through its, myself. Over the races my insight became sharpened; damping suspension, tyre wear, cracklling chassis, even the engine roar, the spark plag, every single pistons movement... I sense all as if were part of me.
We aren't sure that we quite understood the meaning of his words but we are certain: soon his experience would give him much more.
