Wilson upset by performance in British F3 Series
Pictures of experienced racer Neil Wilson from the British F3 Series at Silverstone said it all as he sat on the bank outside of Copse corner with his head in his hands after another retirement.
In 7 races, Wilson has only been able to complete 4, either through accidents or car failure and speaking to Auto Racer magazine he could not find a reason to the lack of form, performance and reliability, saying 'I have always enjoyed racing in this series, but this season has started out as my worst. I feel really sorry for the team as we all try hard to prepare our cars and with our F3 car we have previously had excellent reliability from the VOL engine. I think the accidents I have had have been maybe due to trying too hard and over driving the car to regain lost points.
Asked about his aims for the rest of the season and his future, Neil said the following: 'My aims for this season in the British F3 Series was a top 5 championship position, especially as I won a race last season, but now I think that is out of the window and its looking hard to retain a top 10 place now. Being one of the oldest drivers, I am not sure if this season will be my last, as it depends on what happens from now to the end of the season, but we are thinking about the teams future and we see a lot of great talent coming up through karting so we will just have to wait and see.'
