Wheeler Laps the Field at Phillip Island

Just when you think the day can't get better for the rookie after ousting Eddie Cheever in Argentina, it did.

Wheeler trounced the field, winning the Phillip Island Rookie Series Race #1 by over 2-minutes, lapping the entire field with 5 laps still to run despite an early safety car.

Some speculate that Wheeler doesn't belong in the Rookie Series as he's shot up the rankings at an obscene rate. Wheeler is expected to handle Phillip Island #2 equally as well which puts him on pace to break the top 100 of the Rookie Series in just 4 appearances. He's recorded poles, fastest lap, and most laps led on both tracks and in all 3 races thus far and expects to keep laps led and fastest lap in his 4th appearance. He cleared the field by nearly 5 seconds on his fastest lap in Race #1.
