Pressmeddelanden - Learning Indy The Hard Way

Learning Indy The Hard Way

It's been a rocky introduction to Indy life for Mack Zaggro who - approaching mid-season - is fast becoming Indy's "Nearly Man".

Zaggro burst on to the American scene with a shocking pole position on his debut, eventually finishing 8th after his complete lack of tyre data and experience saw him stay our far too long, and give away what could arguably have been a decent Top 5.

A very simple mistake in Austin Qually saw the Brit a long, long way down the order as the reality of Indy came crashing down with a dose of realism, rendering his worst result to date.

A very positive run of P5, P5 and P4 in the next three rounds gave hope to the series rookie, who was beginning to prove he belongs in the top flight! But then came the Indianapolis 500...

Zaggro bought home a respectable P10 in the legendary race, but was left wondering what could have been after no less than 3 separate occasions withing the race saw his NOVA teams strategy fall just a few laps short of highly beneficial stops under caution. Instead, stoppin at racing speed with a bunched up field, and losing stacks of time hauling back through the order.

Coupled with today's race at Belle Isle, as again, a very strong drive is undone by one simple (albeit very large) mistake on cold tyres seeing Mack drop from a net P5, to 14th! Registering his second worst result of the season.

All in all, aside from one very lucrative week, the Brit has utterly shredded his rank, and stands to do so again this week.

To all aspiring Indy drivers. The series offers a wealth of cash, rank, and results, along with variety and strategy not seen in F3 or mid-tier series... But... With the great gains come even greater losses, consistency wins through, but this series simply does not reward mediocrity.
