Pressmeddelanden - Semprini Invites All to Montréàl Pub Crawl

Semprini Invites All to Montréàl Pub Crawl

Just as the F1 circus makes its stop in La Belle Province, Canadian fan favorite junior circuit pilot Monty Semprini invites the racing world to a Montréàl pub crawl. Fresh off the heels of his 30-point weekend in North American F2 on the Île de Notre-Dame, the hard partying Semprini summons all drivers in town to a soirée of drink and debauch in downtown Montréàl.

"Not like you need a reason to party, but it was a pretty good round of racing for me," said Monty. "And I hear that some of those F1 guys like Acarini and Tok can really put away some liquor so I hope to see them or anyone else out on the town tonight and we'll see howw well they hold their booze." When asked what kind of plans were in order for the evening he simply said, "No real plans, just go out and find some trouble but there will be liquor and there will be women for sure, starting right now." Then he turned and found two grid girls, one of which handed him a martini, the other put a lipstick cherry on his cheek to match the one on his helmet. "I am the James Bond of race car drivers."

He may be from Vancouver but Montréàl loves him and he loves Montréàl.

A second and a fourth place this week puts Semprini solidly in third place on the North American F2 table on 63 points, fourteen clear of Lubos Kubka. What's more to celebrate is that the results catapult him to top spot in the Canadian rankings ahead of the retired Dante Vanderpuije.

"I would have caught him sooner but he kept racing for over a year after he retired which was weird. He even gained ranking one week last season," Semprini explained. "But that's okay, he was a great racer and so here's to Dante. Cheers!"

Perhaps there will be some party stories from Montréàl later in the week, and not just from Monty?
