Pressmeddelanden - Hunter Signs Collaborative Deal with Ford!

Hunter Signs Collaborative Deal with Ford!

2x World Rally Champion Wynn Hunter arrived back home in Wales yesterday for his home event, having clinched the title for a second consecutive season in Turkey.

Despite the fanfare arrival for the home talent, it was only the start of the week's events, as Hunter announced a surprise departure from his Fox Ache team at Toyota, the Japanese marque being responsible for every single one of his championships, and individual wins, since the introduction of the rally series!

"It's with a heavy heart that this announcement is made..." said the 24 year old Britton, who has enjoyed 118 rally event victories at the wheel of his Toyota Yaris, "... But I have many reasons. Namely, the pursuit of out-right and all-inclusive success. Toyota have given me a serious machine, but the GOAT's of this world can boast success at different levels and - most importantly - across different teams, if I am to achieve more than just victories, I want to do so with new projects and new surroundings. Despite their successes, especially in F1 of late, Ford are dramatically underrepresented in WRS, I think only one driver across all three disciplines currently uses a Ford chassis, so I hope to be instrumental in changing that culture".

Ford F1's primary spokesman PaleRider extended his appreciation to the rally ace, and welcomed the offer of extending Ford's reach into new disciplines:

"The Ford-Motorsport-Team is proud to announce, that Wynn Hunter - perfectly coached by the British manager Adamski, will drive for Ford-Motorsport in the World Rally Series through Season 44. Wynn drove a perfect season 43, winning the WRS title in a dominant style, finishing almost all race on the top of the podium. We congratulate him for this outstanding achievement, and wish Wynn and his manager a wonderful season 44 in his Ford Fiesta Rally Car".

After the breakdown of communications between Fox Ache management, Hunter will revert to his former team name, now sporting Ford branding, and compete under M-Sport Eclipse OEC once again!

Hunter - having now ascended into the World's Top 20 ranking, seeks to clean sweep the WRS title with 14 wins from 14 next season, a feat he will have narrowly missed out on this season.

"S44 may well be our final chance to tackle this accolade! We are constantly looking in our mirrors now and the chasing pack is decimating the lead we used to have over the field, we are predicting that it's likely Season 45 will actually see wins spread across several drivers, so we are setting ourselves this one final challenge for next season! It really won't be a given! The competition is closing in every day!"
