Pressmeddelanden - Monster Energy Racing Team to Debut

Monster Energy Racing Team to Debut

Team Manager Christopher Clary announced Saturday the debut of Monster Energy Racing, a US based driver development program for the NASC series. Clary stated that the team would focus on younger, American Talent in the stock car series while working to develop talents to hopefully debut in the IndyCar series in the future.

Spearheading the new team's arrival in motorsports is rookie driver Chris Dugas, a new talent punching above his weight class after a strong 5th place finish in the recent Custom Series World Oval championship. "We showed we can hang in there with more seasoned drivers when it comes to oval racing. We probably could have finished stronger without the two DNFs but we will take that experience and use it to our advantage going forward "

Dugas, who is to make his season series debut in the NASC Mexico series, has a long road ahead of him to the NASC Gold Championship. "As a team, we're really focusing on track experience and training in overtaking. A lot of guys out there are focused on mental skills but that's not our game right now. We've been running some single races at tracks on the Mexico schedule to get ready for the season."

When asked about the future, Dugas pointed to Team Manager Clary who had this to say, "Monster has put together a great training team that doubles as our pit crew. We've got simulator tracks for the Silver and Gold Schedule that we will run leading up to season 44. Overall, we've really relied on having a good practice run and taking that success into the races to put this #13 NOS Energy team in a position to beat more skilled drivers. We expect to finish in the top 5 this season and then make the jump to NASC Silver."

When asked what drivers would be joining the Monster Energy team in the future, "We have the #19 Monster Energy car ready to go and we are in talks with a more veteran driver to take the helm. We are also looking at some year one guys to drive the Full Throttle brand car for season 44. We've got private testing and development series in the works, and sponsorship programs that pay for superliscences and we will announce new drivers as they are signed on."
