Young Bucks Racers U22 - Slovakiaring / Toth-Fodor does it like Ze Cruz
Slovakia says hello to the Young Bucks Racers Series at the Slovakiaring and like in Chimay, the pole setter doesn't win either.
Enrico Bitta was on pole, Janos Toth-Fodor on 2nd and the winner of Chimay, Fabricio Ze Cruz started the race from 4th position. Host Raphael Weber was able to enter the race from the top 10 this time, he started in 8th position.
For Enrico Bitta, even though he started from pole position, the race was not optimal for him. The Italian made several minor mistakes that put him out of the Top 5 on mid-race, even narrowly out of the Top 10. However, Bitta was able to fight back to sixth place, with Louis-Philippe Seguin who finished fifth holding the Italian at bay by seven-tenths of a margin.
But not only Bitta made mistakes, Frederic Duchateau, Jack Clow, Felix Piquet and Freyja Þorvaldsdottir lost better race results by that.
The winner was the Belgian pole setter Janos Toth-Fodor ahead of Fabricio Ze Cruz and Silke Rasmussen. Because Ze Cruz had already won the race from second position in Belgium, Toth-Fodor repeated the event, except that Ze Cruz moved from fourth to second position and Bitta finished the race from fifth position instead of third position. Host Raphael Weber finished seventh in the race.
In the championship standings, Ze Cruz is ahead of the Hungary with 99 points to 92 points, Enrico Bitta is in third place with 67 points.
Race 3 will take place in Jarama, Spain, a circuit close to Madrid. Will Ze Cruz retaliate and extend the lead? Will Janos Toth-Fodor take the lead in the standings?
We'll find out on Monday.
