Informacje prasowe - Formula 1 World Series Title Race

Formula 1 World Series Title Race

As season 22 end comes ever closer, I thought I would take a look at how the results are shaping up. At the moment we still have two teams that can mathematically take the Constructors title, and the fight for 3rd is still very much going down to the wire.

Title Contenders
1st. Mclaren Racing - 482 points
2nd. Redbull Racing Viallante F1 - 435 points

Currently with 2 races left there is a maximum of 86 points available to either team, with the gap being 47 points, Mclaren hold a strong position but are still required to get strong results to take the title. If Redbull can finish 1st and 2nd for the remaining 2 races, that would give them 521 points and their best chance at taking the title. However, Mclaren only need to secure 40 more points in two races too make the title impossible for Redbull.

Redbull have both their cars in the top3 for qualifying in Brazil, but both teams endured difficult races last season. Mclarens Rapido won the race, but his team mate missed out on points whereas Redbull managed a 4th place and 8th.

A win and 3rd place finish would be enough to Mclaren to secure the title here at Brazil.

So look at the battle for 3rd in the Constructors Title, the race is much closer again.

Race for 3rd:
3rd. Williams F1 Team - 225 points
4th. Jordan Grand Prix - 212 points

So many possibilities here that it would be impossible to even try to mention them. So instead lets look at the records in these last two races for both the teams, and how they've qualified for this race.

Brazil:
Williams has 1 car on 4th on the grid, and the other on 11th.
Jordan has 1 car 12th, and the other 17th.

So far, it looks like Williams has the edge here at Brazil and could potentionally extend their lead on Jordan. However, last season both teams managed to finish on the podium at Brazil, if past form is anything to go by, the race for 3rd position in the Constructors standings if going to go right down to the last race at Yas Marina. So how did both teams go last season at Abu Dhabi?

Abu Dhabi Qualifying(Season 21)
Williams had 1 car 5th on the grid, and the other 18th.
Jordan had 1 car 14th on the grid, and the other 29th.

Jordan managed to secure a single point for finishing in 10th place last season. The battle for 3rd is likely to go down to who can secure a better result last season in the final race and I don't know about you but I can't pick who is going to come out on top.
