In a culmination of years of planning and effort, Mercedes AMG was taken to the pinnacle of success by driver Mihail Beskov. Mercedes gave him a good car that sat 4th through much of the race when Beskov made the wise decision for a early pit to change to intermediate tires. Beskov, a step ahead of the field, quickly took over the lead and never looked back. Fans and managers of Mercedes AMG rejoiced in celebration as Beskov cruised to the victory.
While this is only one victory, the management says that this is only the beginning. The future plans has Mercedes AMG looking to be a top 5 team in the next few seasons with designs on the top 2 spots in the not so distant future. Not only are there build plans for the car going very well but their relationships that they have cultivated with their drivers, past and present, continue to be a strength of Mercedes. Drivers such as Oleg Petrov have built a strong bond with Mercedes AMG and shown himself valuable on and off the track. Not only has he, and Beskov, been here through tough times but he has helped with training and recruiting, something the team has very high praise for.
Mihail Beskov has proven himself a champion and Mercedes AMG couldn't be happier with him, he's a class act on and off the track. Looking forward, as the team continues to improve, they have their sights set on more top finishes and a even better car for next season.
