NOVA-cancy. New Driver Arrives

NOVA Sport head of driver development Ray Striver spent all of five minutes with team bosses this evening, putting pen to paper for manager Adamski's new driver, and in a scene strikingly familiar to the British manager, his now-ex-driver Jay Wellington pulled an exceptional pole position out of the bag at what was his swan song qualifying effort at Valencia, in the penultimate round of the UK "Single Race Championship", leading team-mate (and now undisputed number one driver within the team...) to an unprecedented all-NOVA front row, despite not having trained any real skills since day 20... (Lol). With British Worldy Jackson Storm watching on in 3rd after a minor error.

This of course is reminiscent in part to the final day of previous driver Ray Striver's career, as a pole-less season turned to a pole and two wins on his final weekend under contract.

We caught a few final words with Welly as he hung up his boots after his final Q.

"... I have €20 left after I gambled €4,100,000 on a young start-up company... I'm gonna go grab a bucket of chicken and a cider and bid farewell to my beloved chassis, I lost the keys to my MYG in the paddock and some young lad picked them up, and you know the rule, 3 seconds on the ground and the item is public property. That and a vacant seat, the 3-second rule is one of the first things you learn in school in the UK and I would be remiss if I did not uphold this tradition..."

And with that, and 28 legitimate wins under his belt, the 26 year old Brit walked about 20 feet, to the pit wall, where he assumes his new role within the teams admin, like all other retired drivers in the organisation...

Enter stage left, the lad who acquired Wellingtons F3 chassis and the inherent drive by way of 3-second rule: 18 year old Mack Zaggro joins the fray. The youngster looks set to be categorically thrown in at the deep end with a fierce private series penned for next season, and likely a full season stint in the free-to-enter Rookie Series to allow for a more aggressive financial plan geared at training.
