Kauria left out from F1
Kaius Kauria was left again from Williams’ driver roster once again. Teemu Laine and Tommi Häkkinen, who are also the previous drivers of Williams, will be competing for Williams also for the season 10.
Kauria finished 3rd in Indy Series standings when he DNF’d his last race in Fontana with a stupid own mistake. So the second place was acquired by Milan Dermisek. Indy Series was won by Lukin Kaderabek, who will be a driver for Jordan in the F1 series during the next season. Kaderabek demonstrated a really solid performance in the series during the whole season.
Kaurias alternating performance was surely affecting to the driver selection of Williams. Kauria made it to the pole ten times during the season, but was not able to bring the car first to the finish line any more than four times. In nine races Kauria led most laps. In most races Kauria degraded his position form qualifying due to bad tactics or bad luck with the safety car and in four races he DNF’d. In one qualifying Kauria did not clock a time at all.
Kauria gave his comment about the driver selection:
Of course I am disappointed. That’s clear. I have been able to do perform greatly at some times, but it seems that it’s still not enough. I have been concentrating my training to my psychological side lately in order to get more constant result, but it still hasn’t been good enough. I am confident that the team manager and my own manager, looni, knows what is best for the team and also for me. That makes me begin the next season in Indy Series with bright mind and, hopefully, improved constant performance.
