Boletins de Imprensa - MRC S39 Week 1-2 Recap
MRC S39 Week 1-2 Recap
Welcome to the (Unofficial) MRC Recap of Week 1 and 2, where we highlight what happend in some of the major series so let's start (and make sure to read the notice at the end of this release)
FORMULA 1
New season, New Drivers, And of course a closer field, as the australian GP just showed us, But first, Let's talk about Rushman, who is in my opinion was always that one driver who pushed a midfield car and fight the top runners, Ford Team owner Wresdan claimed that it was planned that Razor Rushman was going to go for another shot at his 'home series' and woeger was going to take his spot for multiple seasons, and he also claimed that he is hoping for his team to finish 5th again
Anyways back to the races
Chloe de Saint-Germain topped all the qualifying sessions, but not to say she was dominant as atelsek and morgan were almost as fast being less than a tenth away in Q1 and Q2
But in Q3 the entire top 6 were only seperated by 1 tenth
Back down at the midfield Woeger is doing pretty well in his debut qualifying in P9 only one position behind his teammate
In the race De Saint-Germain had a banger of a start as she had a lead of 8 tenths by the end of the first lap, but that lead was quickly shortened by Dexter Morgan in the next few laps
Novikov made a huge mistake at turn 2 and dropped all the way down to P11, now he has a hard task to catch up back to the pack he was in
In lap 24 De Saint-Germain made a mistake at turn 1 so Morgan took the chance and overtook his teammate for the lead of the race
The safety car was deployed in lap 39 as Ricardo-Mentho crashed after spinning but that safety car didn't do much to the race lead as morgan just bolted away at green flags keeping his lead to the end
So the podium is as follows :
Dexter Morgan 1st
Chloe De Saint-Germain 2nd
Dare Atelsek 3rd
Dexter commented after the race that it was his best season start so far and he is hoping to challenge for the championship once again, but the competition is rising every season, he also said that he would prefer the one taking the crown if he didn't to be his Teammate
And if you thought the first qualifying was close wait until you see the bahrain GP Qualifying results, as Wirdhiem takes pole with Dexter Morgan only 0.016 seconds behind, and only 0.002 infront of his teammate
In the race both of Wirdhiem and De Saint-Germain had a great first few laps as they ran away from the pack while Morgan fell back to p4, Wirdhiem and De Saint-Germain kept fighting until the end of the Grand Prix as De Saint-Germain won, followed by Wirdhiem and novikov
But the real highlight of the race is Vilanova who dragged his Pegaso up to P6, so congratulations for him and his team!
For the next round in china we got a wet qualifying sessions, which considerably changed the field with both of Mclaren's szabo and Redbull's De Saint-Germain Qualified P13 and P14 while their teammates both qualified on the front row as Morgan took pole and Novikov second.
In the race Morgan kept his lead until lap 5 where he made a mistake which gave the lead away to his fellow Russian and rival Novikov, but other than that there wasnt anything intresting this race
For the final round of week 2, Porsche dominated qualifying as Atelsek and Wirdhiem locked the front row, down the field we got Pegaso having a great qualifying as their drivers qualified 8-9, RedBull didn't have the best of luck as both of their cars qualified outside the top 10
The ferrari drivers weren't hesitant to catch the Porsche Duo as all 4 drivers started battling for the lead
Szabo DNF'd near the end in around the time the redbull drivers joined the battle
Atelsek made a mistake on the last lap dropping down to p3, Szabo wins, Jarbas second, and Atelsek finishes on the last step of the podium
Indycar
The first qualifying session of the season sure was a close one, as Nannini on pole, followed by former Ford F1 driver Rushman in 2nd with a hundredth of a second to gap to pole, Portocarrero in 3rd with a 0.025 gap to pole, and only a thousandth of a second behind him there is Wizgey
The race started in wet conditions which proved to be tricky as Bentham almost ended up in the barriers twice
Meanwhile at the front of the field Nannini is increasing his lead to Rushman
In lap 38 both of Nannini and Rushman pitted, with Nannini's stop being only slightly faster, but still helping him to extend the gap even more but in the next pitstop phase Nannini's pitcrew made a mistake and Rushman takes the lead
Second round at barber same thing as the last one, Nannini on pole with rushman close behind while there is a big gap to Wizgey in 3rd
Nannini had a lightning start as he built a gap to rushman who was falling to the clutches of Wizgey, the race kept on going that way until the closing stages where the strategy diffrence helped rushman get the lead and from there he went to the checkered flag as he won the race, followed by nannini and wizgey
Long beach did not have many intresting moments in qualifying, the race went expectably with the notable moment of Portocarrero going to p3 while wizgey was in second, but the biggest shock was the last lap, Nannini crashed ON THE FINAL LAP giving Wizgey the win while Portocarrero got second and rushman third
FORMULA E
Qualifying of the first race wasn't too intresting, We have the defending 3-time FE champion Vidmar on pole sharing the front row with Carter, Vidmar quickly ran away from the pack but a mistake a few laps later dropped him back to 2nd and the race continued without any notable action, Carter won the race with Vidmar in 2nd and Wolf in 3rd
Vidmar got another pole in Malaysia, wolf was 7 thousandths behind but he set the same laptime as Carter
Lawley had a good start from p4 jumping both of Carter and Wolf and started chasing Vidmar who by all this pressure from behind made a huge mistake, Lawley slid right by to get the lead of the race followed by Wolf and Carter, and that was it as the race order for the top 10 didn't change at all, so Lawley takes his first win aswell as his first podium in this season!
Carter ended Vidmar's pole streak as he got pole himself, while vidmar got second, but that did not stop him from retaking the lead at the start, wolf on the other hand had a shocker of a first lap as he dropped all the way out of the top 10
Throughout the race Lawley made considerable gains as he overtook Carter for P2 at lap 19 but that was short lived as Carter got the position back and that was the end of it, Vidmar took his first win of the season, Carter second and Lawley third
MOTO 1
Defending Champion Da Costa Took pole but was closely followed by future RedBull F1 Driver Nalbandian while Hunter was in a world of his own starting in 3rd, Nalbandian bolted to first and starting extending his lead until lap 7 where he made a huge mistake and fell down to 7th, but while that was happening Hunter overtook Da Costa, there for getting the race lead but Da Costa got him back, meanwhile Nalbandian made his way back up to third but he is way behind the two battling at the front and that's exactly when Da Costa's bike started failing, and by him retiring, Hunter got a clear lead and obviously he won with Nalbandian second and Giza third
Da Costa got another pole position in thailand and held that lead until the checkered flag while nalbandian was in second
(At this point i was way behind schedule so i just posted the results)
Da Costa Got yet another pole, followed by Nalbandian and Hunter, That order stayed the same until the finish
NOTICE : I was way behind schedule (this was supposed to be published in day 15's morning), so i'm really sorry if some of these look rushed as well as there was a lack of series covered, and that's why i'm looking for someone to help me cover more series, if you are willing to do so then please send me a private message here in MRC
