Persberichten - The XIX WAR Supercup is here!

The XIX WAR Supercup is here!

Hello WAR fans! Welcome to another edition of the WAR Supercup! This season we're competing in Australia to pay homage to the brave people fighting the wildfires that has been ravaging the country. All our prayers are with you!

The Supercup is already halfway through the schedule 6 races and Michael Dovikov is leading the way after winning the first 2 races and finishing 6th in the other one. Although Novikov won the first 2 races it wasn't as simple as you might think. Alex Reis dominated the first race at Adelaide but a failed fuel strategy forced him to pit in the last lap dropping him to 11th overall. Asdrúbal Pinto finished 2nd and Thor Viking was 3rd. In the U23's class it was Nádia Portocarrero leading the way after a sloppy start of the race, including a damaged car, but she recovered to win the race with Kjelle Sandberg finishing 2nd and Hélio da Matta Jr in 3rd.

The 2nd race at Canberra saw Drummond leading for much of the race but a car malfunction forced him to retire and that left the door wide open for Novikov to take his 2nd race win of the season. Thomazini finished 2nd but never really challenged the race winner and Lisboa took the final podium position. The U23's class saw Portocarrero lead from start to finish with the same drivers in the other podium positions: Sandberg was 2nd and da Matta Jr was 3rd.

Race number 3 at Melbourne had a different outlook as Lisboa started from pole and looked good leading the race. But Lisboa had a bad tire strategy that led to an early pit and then a driver error knocked him out of the race. Jarbas took over the lead from Lisboa but also had a bad tire strategy that caused him to make extra pit-stops and out of contention for a good result. When all was said and done it was Drummond taking home the race win with Thomazini in 2nd and Viking in 3rd. The U23's class was once again dominated by Portocarrero but this time it was da Matta finishing 2nd and Guerra in 3rd.
