Owner Mike Blue Dishes On Future of Team, New Series and More
After the inaugural race of his newly founded North American Cup, owner and former NASC Mexico driver Mike Blue took a moment with the press to discuss recent events and the future of his team.
Press- First off, I just wanted to congratulate you on the the success your team has had the past couple of seasons and on getting a competitive Cup with some of the world's best drivers together.
Blue- Thanks. It really is a dream come true. I always wanted to get an elite Private series started up ever since I first started Mike Blue Racing 11 seasons ago. It has been a wild ride since then, but it's been worth it.
P- Any comments on your team's performance in the race?
B- No comment. I am here in the capacity of series director, not team owner. I've worked with Brad long enough to know that he drove the car as smart and as hard as he could.
P- Speaking of Brady, is it true that after this season, he will be co-owner of your team?
B- Yes. At the conclusion of the season, the team will be re-branded to Blue Brady Motorsports and both myself and Brad will be co-owners so that I can focus on starting more Private Series in the future. I firmly believe that brad has proven he is level headed enough to handle himself in a co-owner? driver position.
P- Finally, what are your Season 36 plans?
B- I can't say for sure. We're looking into maybe moving up into Silver Cup or back to Brazil .I know Brad wasn't too pleased with his result in his one season there and feels he's matured enough to win a title over there. He did enjoy living in the country for that season. However, nothing's final yet. As we get closer to the conclusion of this season, we'll ralk about what he wants to do.
P- Thank you for your time, Mike.
B- No problem. Thanks for having me.
