Persberichten - Wheeler Calls for American Drivers

Wheeler Calls for American Drivers

Earlier this season, American Rage driver, Nick Wheeler gave some insight on American racing. With the announcement of the Nations' Cup yesterday, we reached out to Wheeler to see if he would be bidding for a role on the American team. Jason Anderson made the phone call.

Anderson: We see your manager applied to run with the American association. Did you have anything to do with the decision?

Wheeler: Absolutely. The Czechs, Italians, and Brits already have formidable teams formed up. When I looked at the roster on our association, I saw youth... even younger than me. I may be the 6th rank in my country right now, but I'm still fairly young, and I have a lot of growing to do. That said, the current roster of managers are running even younger drivers. I had to sign up to at least put some experience in the association.

Anderson: So you intend to drive in the Cup?

Wheeler: Of course I intend to drive in the Cup. As it stands, I'm on the verge of gaining that 5th rank anyways, so it wouldn't even be a difficult decision to make. I'll be towards the top of the driver list regardless of the others who come in.

Anderson: Fair enough. Do you expect any others?

Wheeler: Well as of now we still need 5 more. Personally, I'd like to see more experience. I'd like to see Bruce Wayne, Arnold Justasarni, Tim Richmond, and Ryan Hunt in their machines on Nations' race days. I think any of their managers would make a formidable president, and I think their talents are necessary for us to run with the stronger countries.

Anderson: And if none of them respond?

Wheeler: Well if none of them respond, that'll put me towards the top of the totem pole, so to speak, in the United States. I can hold my own against the big guns, but I sure as hell won't be winning any Nations' races any time soon. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Thank you, Jason. We'll talk again soon.

Wheeler's seemingly desperate call for experience in the USA Association could make or break the chances of the United States in the Nations' Cup. We'll have to see how things turn out as applications continue to pour in around the world.
