RAGE Motorsports Unleashed
As the dust starts to settle on Season 9 what could well be the first non-Formula One Official Team is here, an announcement that answers many of the questions posed of drivers Drummond Bennett, Brandon Knight and Nick Wheeler during the season. Joining these three in the newly christened RAGE MOTORSPORTS is 3 year veteran Bruce Wayne, evening out the scales at two Brits and two Yanks.
Wheeler garnered some negative press mid season with his comments on the state of racing in his home country but was able to deflect some of the heat into his outstanding rivalry with friend and now teammate Brandon Knight. The two drove each other to the edges of their abilities in the last few weeks of the S9 Rookie Series, Knight besting Wheeler with a 4th place overall finish, leaving Wheeler in 14th after a nasty week in Shanghai and a crash at Watkins Glen.
With Bennett's regular appearances in the paddock at Rookie events and the trio's seemingly inseparable attendances in the single race arena many had speculated to the prospect of something forming between the trans-Atlantic drivers and are not surprised with this announcement. Also as many people suspected, all 4 Rage drivers will be driving in the Season 10 Formula 3 American Series with high hopes of being competitive in the series.
It's expected that the new Rage Motorsports car liveries will be unveiled over the next few days while the drivers continue to train up and acquire data on next season's tracks. The real question however, is can the two high flying rookies keep pace with their more experienced teammates, only time, and points, will tell.
