Nothing more than position 4 - Australian Formula 4
The race week in Melbourne is over and while the Australian Formula 4 in Adelaide has been an up and down ride for Raphael Weber, the week in Melbourne was much better for the young German.
In race 1 Weber started the race in 4th position and finished in 5th, in race 2 Weber finished fourth. This begs the question, is more than 4th position not possible?
"The pace among the top 3 is already on a level of its own, they drive at their own pace. I don't think more than fourth place will be possible over the course of the season. Unless something happens in the race that helps us to finish on the podium."
This reality is also reflected in the points table and the overall statistics. The only winners of the races were Lucas Teixeira Dias three times and Roman Kulagin once, while Teixeira Dias, Kulagin and Bob Down were the only drivers to finish on the podium. In the points table, Teixeira Dias is in the lead with 207 points, ahead of Kulagin with 188 and Bob Down with 168.
After the 2nd race in Melbourne, Raphael Weber has taken 4th place with 118 points, just one point ahead of Alexander Brown. There is only a 12-point difference between 4th and 8th place, while the top 3 are really in a league of their own.
The 3rd race week of the Australian Formula 4 will take place at Symmons Plains Raceway in Launceston, Tasmania. Let's see what this week has in store for Weber and co.
