プレスリリース - Striver Breaks All Time British Record
Striver Breaks All Time British Record
Many drivers throughout the world claim they don't keep track of records they may or may not break.
One such driver is not Ray Striver.
Today's Beach Cup Custom Championship race at Killarney, South Africa saw Striver win from pole. This marked his 21st win of the season and saw him break the all-time British record for wins in a single season set in Season 10 by UK#1 Jonas Gudas, who himself took the record from Adamski's previous driver Guy Wellington, who took 16 single season wins back in Season 4.
"To many, these won't be staggering numbers" said manager Adamski. "Ray has not long appeared in the Worlds Top 100. There are guys in that list who can win 20 races in a matter of weeks... And i'm sure some will argue that there are more races and disciplines now too and Wellington could likely have exceeded that number. But he didn't, times change and we've found a formula that has worked this season. We also invested in a motorbike which has afforded us five of those wins and half of the 20 have come in our Custom Championship. We're also just two pole positions away from taking the British record away from Gudas again for Qualifying. We're so happy to claim this accolade, we'd be ecstatic to claim them both. "
Striver has yet to take a win in his second season of Formula 2. Instead racking up a number of podiums as, in a show of pace and consistency, the last three races have ended the same with championship leader Grosjean Jr winning, from Portugals Da Costa Jr and Striver 3rd.
Having not long surpassed mid-season. Ray aims to top 30 wins before the season is out.
