New livery to leave bad luck behind!
Mugello, Italy.
There's a brand new looking motorcycle on the Moto3 grid! KB Motorworks, the Brazilian livery shop, presented on Wednesday night the new colours for its sponsored rider, John Rafael, who got a new helmet and a new overalls, also produced by the shop.
The new painting brings the grayish blue of Alpha Tauri, a Red Bull group company. Rafael joined the Red Bull Racing Vaillante training program last season after inviting himself to the Brazilian driver, Asdrúbal Pinto. Red Bull, through the Brazilian veteran, has offered valuable advice to the country's young drivers. In the presentation of the painting, Rafael spoke about the support he has received:
"Red Bull, through Pinto, is helping a lot with the training. Follow the instructions of the more experienced ones really opens up new possibilities for us, especially this season, which is already a kind of recovery season. I hope that this new livery will definitely take away the bad times we had at the beginning of the season, to leave bad luck behind."
Although he got off to a poor start to the season, having been plagued by tire problems in the first three rounds at Losail, Buriram and Circuit of Americas, Rafael is currently third in the overall standings, just two points behind Indonesian Pratama Simanjuntak. The vertiginous rise is due to the fact that the young Brazilian rider has finally made peace with his Honda NSF250RW, having won the last two rounds at Jerez and Le Mans.
"We're doing our best to climb the table. With only two points behind Simanjuntak, to get to second position is perfectly possible still here in Mugello, from there on it's to dispute every point, try to take the difference to Granado and go for this title" - Erick Granado, also Brazilian, is the leader of the category, 26 points ahead Rafael.
The new painting should debut on Thursday morning, when Rafael lines up in pole position of the Italian Moto3 Grand Prix at the Mugello circuit.
