MRC F1 Suggestion
In next few press releases I will share with you my thoughts about MRC Formula 1.
The first thing I’m going to discuss is tanking. This is the one of the things I dislike the most about MRC Formula 1. Tanking makes Formula 1 less enjoyable for everyone involved. It offers absolutely no challenge to the drivers in those teams, it probably makes management of those teams less involved and it also makes it less fun for other drivers and managers as the series is less competitive. From my perspective it’s also often detrimental to long term success of the team, especially if you use it too often. In last 10 season teams have been tanking 25 times and on average that is almost 20% of the field. Only Red Bull, McLaren and Porsche didn’t resort to tanking in this time period.
The other thing I really don’t like is very closely tied to tanking and that is shares issue system. As many of you know in first issue teams can receive is up to 3 million for issuing 500 coins worth of shares. In second share issue is possible to receive up to 60% of the difference between income from sponsors, drivers, voting points and rewards of the requesting team and best earning team during the whole season. In this case maximum of 10% of current shares number can be issued.
The problem is how the number of new shares in second issue is determined. If you indefinitely
increase a number by 10% you will relatively quickly hit enormous number even if you start with small one. That means that at the moment McLaren releases 3.900 coins or 130€ (in real money) worth of shares. In few years teams would be releasing thousand Euros worth of shares for 10% of the team, which is ridiculous.
So here is my proposal, I would use this table to determine how many shares team issue for share
issue 2:
50 coins worth of shares if a team gets up to 999.999 €
100 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 1.000.000 € up to 1.999.999 €
150 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 2.000.000 € up to 2.999.999 €
200 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 3.000.000 € up to 3.999.999 €
250 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 4.000.000 € up to 4.999.999 €
300 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 5.000.000 € up to 5.999.999 €
350 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 6.000.000 € up to 6.999.999 €
400 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 7.000.000 € up to 7.999.999 €
450 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 8.000.000 € up to 8.999.999 €
500 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 9.000.000 € up to 9.999.999 €
550 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 10.000.000 € up to 11.999.999 €
600 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 12.000.000 € up to 13.999.999 €
650 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 14.000.000 € up to 15.999.999 €
700 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 16.000.000 € up to 17.999.999 €
750 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 18.000.000 € up to 19.999.999 €
800 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 20.000.000 € up to 21.999.999 €
850 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 22.000.000 € up to 23.999.999 €
900 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 24.000.000 € up to 25.999.999 €
950 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 26.000.000 € up to 27.999.999 €
1000 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 28.000.000 € up to 29.999.999 €
1050 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 30.000.000 € up to 32.499.999 €
1100 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 32.500.000 € up to 34.999.999 €
1150 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 35.000.000 € up to 37.499.999 €
1200 coins worth of shares if a team gets from 37.500.000 € up to 39.999.999 €
1250 coins worth of shares if a team gets more than 40.000.000 €
I would also halve share issue 1 to 250 coins worth of shares.
This way it would be much harder to takeover a well-run team with brute force (real money). I think this can deterred some users from getting involved in Formula 1. Many of you would remember
blazefp and how much MRC community lost with him leaving. One of the reasons was the fact that
you can easily lose your team to someone with a lot of money, even if you have invested in this team for 20+ seasons. Exception to this is only Red Bull as they only issue shares in share issue one as their income is almost always the biggest.
This would also reward well run teams and punish badly run ones as the latter ones would have to
release more shares and therefore be more prone to takeovers. Some teams would consequently be
less inclined to tank as well.
In my opinion it would also increase how many coins users spend on buying Formula 1 shares. Now every teams sends their shares to the auction and they get sold for only few coins. No reasonable
person would pay 3.900 coins or 130€ for 10% of McLaren. However, if teams would have to pay only
few hundred coins many would choose not to send their shares to the auction, even if an auction
could save them few coins.
This is a WIN for all as more income for this game would hopefully mean faster
development.
