Talladega
Talladega opened for racing on Saturday the 14th of Sept.
All the initial testing showed extremely slow times for this track.
For this track configuration running the Lol-Hon car in the F3 class should show speeds above 346.56kph which is the latest Daytona's record but speeds actually clocked in at 269.44kph in testing.
The only thing we can attribute this to is the track surface being so absolutely new and not having been “Broke-In' at all.
We cant hardly wait until these speed times drop and we reach for a new world speed record for all the different classes.
With this inaugural event at Talladega , the winner of the Pole position on the grid and the the car with the fastest lap in the race will be the new track record-holders.
At one time we held 2 different track-records for races, one lasted for all of about 2 weeks, the other one fell the next race event which just happened to be a Single race the next day.
Well , now we have completed this inaugural event at Talladega .The winner R.Grosjean also had Pole .With a track Record time of 56.13 sec. Which translates to 170.661mph/274.652kph. And the fastest race lap was set by D.Vanderpuije at 57.077 sec.All records were set with the Lol-Hon car combo.
After the race one of the racers was overheard in a tv interview to his home country”These speeds set here a sickeningly slow for this track. We and some wealthy friends are coming back the first track day they have here and bringing some super cars to run over 300kph around here.It felt like we were dragging around a ton of bricks ,just totally sickening".
We finished in 8th so we have no complaints of our results .We are definitely going to keep an eye on the speeds at this track. We have kept track of speeds of some tracks such as Daytona since January 2013 and Daytona speeds have only moved up about 10mph since then.So we hope that this track eventually gets some wear and the speeds pick up.
and so ends the report of the inaugural event at Talladega/USA.
