McCoy makes the step-up to F2!
With season 15 about to get underway I caught up with Leonard McCoy's manager, Emerald, to discuss just how McCoy can do in the upcoming North American F2 series. Here is what Emerald had to say...
~
"It's gonna be a tough season for Leonard, he's up against some top quality drivers. But we knew what we were getting into by making the move up to F2."
"Leonard has been over-achieving since he came into the world of MRC racing at 18 years of age, and I've a feeling he'll upset 1 or 2 seasoned drivers in season 15 too."
"Following on from his title success 2 seasons ago in the Latvian F3 Nationals, he did an amazing job last season in the Asian F3 Majors to overcome several 30+ year olds in claiming 3rd spot. But he did set his sights on getting a podium from the outset of the championship"
"This season a top 6 position would be a wonderful finish for McCoy. He understands he may need Lady Luck on his side, but he's a bright, intelligent driver who can make the most of what he has."
"Mentally, this is a big test for him. I can guarantee that during the course of the coming season his mental skill will only get better and better. This will be his major focus during training in season 15."
"Leonard was delighted when he found out fellow Rage team-mate Staci Evans was joining up to make it a double-Rage assault in North America. I read somewhere yesterday that Staci had been asked about playing second fiddle to Leonard this season.. All I can say is it's absolute nonsense. Every Rage driver is out to do the best they can do and if there was any notion that team orders were part of Team Rage, I would not have recommended he joined up with that team. Leonard and Staci are good friends and will offer each other support when needed. I'm personally looking forward to seeing how both Ragers get on, not just my guy!"
