Season End Q&A

While iHealy was living it up in sunny Portugal on a supposed holiday, we caught up with the other side of the Crazy Torque garage as Adamski and his race driver Ray Striver prepare for the final weeks of competition in Season 10.

Going in to this season, did you imagine you'd be this close to silverware?

"No not really. Our first goal for any season is to secure 6th in the championship at the very least to ensure we make back our entrance fee. But sitting 3rd behind star youngsters Grosjean Jr and Rocco Rapido is fantastic. We knew we could be competitive in F2NA and despite not claiming a win thus far we're happy with the increasing number of podiums we've stood on this season. And Ray is still the only driver to finish every race in the points!

Can you retain 3rd?

"Definitely! We've got a slender margin over Arnold Justasarni, just 8pts. But Rapido has had some bad fortune this season and starts today's race from the back. If we can reel in the 17pts between us then we're in with a shout at 2nd! Anything can happen. 2nd-4th are all up for grabs as 5th place is too far back to challenge. Congratulations too to Grosjean Jr for wrapping up the title!"

You're ending the season in style. Tell us about Future Stars Custom.

"Purely by coincidence, Ray and Biguel find themselves lining up with Jonas Gudas in the Future Stars Championship. Meaning a major turn out for the UK! This means that UK's #1, #2 and #3 ranked drivers will go wheel to wheel! Gudas is good. He's beaten Striver in a custom before but thats when he was 18. Now aged 22 i'm sure we can be closer to him. Plus he seems to favour a LOL chassis which could hamper him in some of the series' tighter tracks.

Laguna Seca tonight, starting 4th. What can you hope for?

"Well 3rd is our initial aim as we held 3rd until Maines took it from us late in Race 1. Both he and Ray were catching Justasarni in 2nd but Race 1 is all about how hard you push your tyres. They could well have hit the cliff. No question we'll be pushing hard. This evening could see Striver clear the 2,000 ranking score with a podium so we'll crunch the numbers and do what we can to hit this career milestone. Considering he was 1,200 coming into this season i'd say thats a monumental rise! Especially from a 1.5 rated F2 Regional Series!"

We left Adamski to dine before tonight's race. There's a huge amount of BBQ chicken to get through with iHealy not around...
