The Season End Approaches
As the Rookie Series moves on to the 9th round, Muzzio is running away with the title. He could potentially wrap it up early after opening up a 150 point lead with 4 races remaining, meaning there is only a maximum of 218 points left up for grabs. Proscuitton took his seventh win in great style to finish 11 seconds ahead of Muzzio, putting him up into third in the championship. Teleki has also continued his run of strong performances and recently Anthony Ventura has returned to proper form.
"First, I want to say congratulations to Luigi on his seventh win! It was a very good race for him. As for me, I'm disappointed with how this week went." said Vanderpuije. "We just couldn't find pace here at Most all week."
Vanderpuije struggled through out the week at the Autodrom Most. Poor performances in qualifying saw him start the first race 17th. Bad strategy in the first race followed by a collision in race 2 saw him walk away completely empty handes. Vanderpuije now sits 5 points from being mathematically out of the championship running.
"First of all, I had the one of the worst qualifying sessions of my career earlier in the week. I made some pretty big mistakes on both my runs and the car just felt terrible. That was on my shoulders though, I could've put the car higher up the grid. The problems continued into the first race as well, the boys and I made bad call on the weather and that ended chances at points. And the second race.. things were going well until I got tangled up with Kiraly. It was a racing incident so no one was at fault there, those things happen. Now we're essentially out of the running! It's been a good season I can say, some unfortunate events but there's nothing you can do about those."
"The seasons not over yet so I'll be still be looking to score as many points as possible! I talked big earlier in the season and I'll do it again, especially since these guys I'm racing are really quick. I intend to battle as much as I can before the seasons is done! [laugh]"
