Windsor F1 Launch For Melbourne
Just 24 hours before Formula 1 kicks off in earnest and Windsor Alliance Racing have finally launched their machine.
Liveries and drivers have been decided for some time but now we get to see the raw figures on paper to give us an idea of where the team will stack up against the competition, and the WAR Board are not getting ahead of themselves.
"We're being realistic here, the test race shows we should effectively see a three tier season in F1, at least for the first season. At the end of the auction we ranked in the bottom tier (teams 11 - 15) with a restricted budget but we see no reason why we can't be the best of tier two and we are shooting for 6th in the constructors championship this season... if not higher!" said a statement on the teams forum.
Referring to the likelihood of five breakaway teams taking the majority of the points week-on-week, Windsors' goal is a respectable one: To maintain steady points while pushing the car past its limits which will be in the hands of drivers Odön Ifj.Tök and the youngest man on the F1 grid Guido Di Rado.
The cars hit the track tomorrow. Be sure to check in on the Formula 1 tab in the races menu! First practice is already under way and both Windsor cars currently occupy 2nd and 4th!
If you havn't already, now is a great time to get behind this team and join the fan club!
