F1 Cars and Preseason Test
The qualifying session at Slovakiaring marked the start of the first ever F1 season! With this preseason test we got to see drivers and cars first time publicly on a race track. Knowing this, almost half of the teams had their engineers working overtime and the results were astonishing indeed - there are now 8 cars with over 4000 Total statistic points!
Both McLaren and DEM boosted their cars with parts adding almost 250 Total points, followed closely by Marussia. Biggest development, however, was made by OMR, which bypassed Red Bull as a team with the largest Total statistic points of car.
This was made evident in the Qualifying Session at Slovakiaring, where OMR drivers Alex Botta and Andre Acarini took 2nd and 3rd places. Alex Botta was only 0.067 seconds behind the leader, Red Bull's Philippe de Saint-Germain Jr. On top of that, OMR spokeperson McPeppolo revealed that Acarini had an awful setup.
With their car fitted with brand new parts, McLaren drivers Ivaan Szabo and Marcis Jr. Freiverts took the 5th and 6th places, close to Antoine Ayrton Poucette of Red Bull who was 4th. These first 6 drivers were inside a second per lap. Next two drivers, Charvec Libor and Jaroslav Kaderabek from Jordan, didn't have any new parts but they could still put up a fight during qualification rounds.
With Williams having a stock car without developed parts, here are the current Total statistic points of each car:
TEAM -- TOTAL
OMR -- 4067.1
Red Bull -- 4048.5
Ferrari -- 4035.1
McLaren -- 4034.2
